Designer-in-Residence. |

Entrepreneur-in-Residence |
| Dr Sharon O’Kane is working with UMIP as Entrepreneur-in-Residence.
Sharon is engaged in an advisory role to enhance the University’s
spin-out company and licensing activities and to encourage intellectual
property entrepreneurship at the University. |

| Sharon, who was named as Bionow / NWDA Biomedical Personality of the Year
2009, and was the Entrepreneur of the Year at the inaugural Northwest Women
in Business Awards 2008, was the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of
University of Manchester spin-out company Renovo. |
Director of Entrepreneurship |
| Imran Hakim has been working with UMIP as Director of Entrepreneurship since 2009. Imran’s role is to enhance the University’s spin-out company and licensing activities and to encourage intellectual property entrepreneurship at the University. |

| A graduate of the University and an optometrist by profession, he runs a successful group of independent practices in the North West. He has also run a separate and diverse portfolio of businesses and projects since the age of 16. His interests run from turning around loss making companies to negotiating complex licensing agreements. |
Regulator-in-Residence |
| The Emergo Group, a leading medical device consultancy, is working with UMIP as Regulatorsin- Residence. Emergo, through senior consultant Richard Love, provides regulatory support in relation to the development and commercialisation of University research projects related to medical devices and diagnostics. |
