Material Transfer AgreementIf you wish to obtain a product from another group or company for research purposes, or if a researcher from another lab requests a product of your research, it is advisable to sign a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). MTAs help to track who has what materials and maintain a balance between the rights of the user to exploit and publish the material, whilst protecting the provider's interests and IPRs. MTAs may be provided by the organisation supplying the product to you or by UMIP if you are the supplying party.
