24/11/2008	UMIP has licensed a new technology, Acoustek® , to Pipeline Engineering which uses acoustic technology to detect full and partial blockages as well as leaks in gas pipelines.
24/11/2008	IBM buys Transitive Corporation. Transitive was founded in 2000 by Alasdair Rawsthorne. His technology allows applications to be moved off one hardware architecture to another without expensive porting of software.
06/11/2008	Arvia Ltd has won the Water Award in the Institute of Chemical Engineers' awards for innovation and excellence 2008 for its water treatment process which allows the continuous removal and destruction of toxic and non-biodegradable pollutants in water
