Medical & Human Sciences
The Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences (MHS) is comprised of the following five schools: Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Psychological Sciences. It is one of the largest faculties of clinical and health sciences in Europe, and boasts annual research funding of over ?58 million. Its student population comprises over 3,500 undergraduates and 1000 postgraduates.
The Faculty has traditionally attracted entrepreneurial academics, and has a strong track record of generating and commercialising Intellectual Property. This has resulted in several noteworthy licence deals and a pipeline of thriving spin-out businesses, including Neutec Pharma (listed on AIM as NTP), F2G, Oncoprobe, Photo Therapeutics and Advanced BioMedical Ltd.
