UMIP and the University Business Development Managers

The University has a number of Business Development Managers whose principal role is to strategically market the research capability of the University to industry, mainly to large internationally renowned blue chip companies.

This activity works well alongside UMIP. If UMIP is talking to a company about technology licensing it can provide a lead in for a Business Development Manager to also talk to the same company about research work. The same also works in reverse.
